Maxima HID projector retrofit!

After witnessing several Maxima owners on this board with their HID projector retrofits, I attempted to follow their footsteps. After several days of planning and intense labor, I came up with these. Let me know what you guys think:

I probably end up spending a total of $450 for everything...including the Hella RS6 bixenon projectors, 2 Philips ballasts, 2 Hella bezels, and 2 Philips 4100K D2S bulbs. The headlights are stock and I did it myself so I guess labor cost doesn't count. Oh, yes...they are HI/LOW.

That is nice man. I've been wanting to do something like that for a long time, just haven't been able to find a set of cost-effective and good-working projector units. You said these are Hella's, can you let us know where to get them? Thanx.

I bought most of my stuff from other members on the hidforum, but the site have been down for a while. Search on ebay. There's always something on ebay. Good luck!

They look like they fit right, BUT and its a big BUT your projectors do not show a cutoff, so therefore you are not getting the right output out of them. In addition, they don't look stock, maybe its just me, but when you mod things such as the lights you want them to appear stock as to not draw attention to the lights.

*scratch that...I see a cut-off...even ever so slightly. I say get rid of the damn bezel...makes them look aftermarket IMO

Other than that...nice work and welcome to the club

I think they look great, I like the chrome housing around them, they blend in very nicely and it complements them. Excellent work.

I bought an aftermarket 9004 wire harness from suvlights and did a couple of things to it to make the highbeam work without turning off the whole headlight. I wish I can remember exactly how I did it; I'll have to look at the wire to remember. There's a great link from the hidforum showing you how to rewire it but the site is still down.

Thanks guys...for all your comments. I really like the results. I used to have a 4100K HID kit in there and it was great too but had no spread at all compared to these projectors. I have some pics of the retrofit process...not very detailed though..so if anyone is interested, PM me. I'll be glad to help.

Thanks. Though I joined the forum a while ago, I only browsed thru it and never posted. I saw a few members with projectors also but without the bezel. I really didn't like the way it looks; also, no bezels mean light would escape thru the sides...perhaps causing unwanted glare. I also covered the projectors with an aluminum shroud so that no light escapes from the sides. I like the look and the results...so I guess I'm happy.

Looks nice! Another setup similar to mine. I did the wiring exactly how you did, since we both used the same instructions.

HIs cutoffs look damn good to me. If you want to see no cuttoff at all, look at my Catz Hi/LO kit. At some point, I'm going to go retro too.

His cutoff is ok. I've seen sharper cutoffs on formz projectors. These look alittle more fuzzier but it is a good job nevertheless. The physical appearance of the headlight look nice. There isn't any kind of glare and plus they are high/low. You did a damn good job...good work!!!!

Can you direct me to the link you guys used to make these?

Imports_Only,
Thses look bada$$, especially with the shroud preventing the light to escape! Good work!

Oh so hot. I can't wait to get back home in 3 months so i can start working on my set! Oh yeah, first I have to buy the components

IMHO, I think the bezel makes the setup more slick and LESS aftermarket than without!

Very nice job leveling.

4th Gen projectors look better than the spider looking crap ones on the 5th gens IMHO.
