Spring and shock install

An hour vs. six. Pretty wide standard deviation. An hour in a shop. That sounds well worth the avoidance of headaches. How much did they charge you? - Kevin

I paid $200 for the install. I could have done it for $150 elsewhere, but I paid a little extra for the comfort, trust, and convenience of having it done at my "usual" shop.

I think it's worth the money if you don't have the time to do it yourself or don't want to f**k it up. I'm sure it's not that hard if you know what you're doing.

dsmercado -- thats a good price, the best I could find in my area was $350 installed, and that was not including the alignment.

If you are looking at a high price, then I would say do it yourself.

$350? Where do you live?

That is a little steep...$200 in NYC isn't too bad...

Koni's will take A LOT longer than tokicos. This is because the konis require the disassembly and modification of the OEM struts...the Toks are direct replacements. I did my Sprint/Tokico combo myself in about 3 hours.

Ben's right - Koni's are gonna take much longer than bolt on Tokiko's. Having a lift has gotta help too. I'd say my shop took 3-4 hours in all.

I'm in Brooklyn, but I dont mind going to Queens if he's as honest as you say. Do you think he'll cut us a some sort of deal to do them both? (probably wont but its worth a try!)

I'll need to know the name of the shop and its exact location. If you know the owner/manager there personally lets get a jump on this. You mentioned "when you get them" (the Koni's), how long before you get them?

Email me or reply here with more info.

Spring is here, lets get a move on!

Sorry can't help in NYC. But if you want to take a road trip to Chicago then I'll hook you up!

Call around to performance shops and ask about Koni inserts. If they say "what's that?" then move on. Some other cars take the Koni's inserted into the OEM housing too. That's the shop you're looking for.
