I'm not too sure if this is normal, but does it seem to anyone else that our motors run a little loud? It sounds as if the lifters are making noise or the sound of valve lash. My oil pressure is fine and I had the compression checked when i purchased it and it was fine. I have only used sythentic oil since day one at the miliage is 155,000kms. But there seems to be this continous ticking sound and its not coming from the chain. Someone told me that the injectors could be making this ticking noise. Anyone?

Nissan made this motor to run quiet. It is the quietest I have ever owned and I have had Mazda, Subaru, Mercedes, et.al. You might be looking at a valve issue, or simply an old and well worn engine. I have a Honda motorcycle with 33K miles and it ticks like crazy, the dealer said it is a piece of sludge stuck in the oil lines within the block. He said the best remedy is to go really fast (seriously) to push it out at high rpm. Hope you have a radar detector.

I know that the only real noise for me is the injectors ticking. It is very noticeable with the hood up when I was trying to do something on the car.
