Buying and picking up a Mevi tomorrow i have a few questions.

Okay, I know about the butterfly screws falling out. I am wondering if i should take them out and put loctite (red) on them or what? Any other tips on installing it besides whats on the write up? What size vacume hose am i going to need? Anything you have to say will be helpful! thanks

I did a little search and came up with this page. It has a bunch of links related to the Mevi.

I've sold 25-35 MEVI's, and I've used red loctite on every one.
Not one of my customers has ever had a problem with their screws falling out.

If you don't use it, drive at your own risk.

<Disclaimer: I don't sell them anymore, and have no interest in selling them agian. So don't PM me asking.>

yeah you MUST use the loctite on the screws, also, just put a small drop on the thread of the screw, if you do it some other way, you will have thread lock (like i had on my first attempt) and it sucks trust me. as for vaccum hoses, you only need two, they will run from both of the nipples on the vaccum canister and to the nipple on the solenoid. they aren't that big but i would bring your vaccum canister with you to the store and get the right ones in the store.

I used Loctite Superglue and the screws are not breaking loose at all.

read the instructions, though since our cars are direct ignition, 3.5k is about 5.5k, i don't know why it works that way but it does. And use the tach signal wire not the coil pack. And you ask what kind of switch you need, but then later state you have the summit, so I guess, you need the summit RPM switch..

Connect it to the battery, or the cigarette lighter, either one works well, the cig lighter it will turn on and off with the key, and the battery it will stay on 24/7 unless you disconnect it. I have mine to my battery and it's been fine for almost a yr.

Just to be sure you get the best bond with the Loctite, use a Q-tip to clean the screw threads with acetone, and also the screw holes.

good luck with the install.

why not weld the screws in there? or some similar method? seeing as how 1 of those screws can, no pun intended, screw you over big time.
