Cost of Tranny Rebuild

1996 Maxima 5spd, going in for a quote tomorrow - whatcha think I am looking at moneywise for something like this.

it will run you 2500.00 are u sure ur tranny needs to be rebuild? how many miles u have on ur max?

Could be $800-$1500 depending how many parts need replacing and labor rates. Gears, synchros, etc. were like $800 for mine.

I paid 1700 for both driver and passanger side diff bearings, 3rd-4th shift assembly, new clutch and flywheel. That was parts and labor.

Thanks for the numbers...except the 2500$ guy...that scared me - alot. Well I will report back after I get a quote tomorrow. I have 130K and what sounds like dif. bearing starting to act up and def. some metal floating around in there somewhere.

Heh I got a quote for $2200 to rebuild and stregthen my 95 5 speed.

Yeah that seems like a lot of money to me, i was expecting 800-1200 range - but I'll have to see. I wish I had the time to drop in a 2000 - 2001 transmission, but college 0wns.
