Swapped Engine!

Finally finished, and working GREAT!

I took your suggestions and replaced the engine on my 95' Maxima SE, instead of trying to fix the beat up old one. The old engine had 113,000 miles on the odo. The new enginge is from a 97' Maxima and has has 47,000 miles on it. The DIFFERENCE !! Is like night and day, it now feels as if the car wants to takes off and go. I also had a 4way break job done as well as the engine swap. I took it for a shakedown drive to Philadelphia, this week end averaging speeds between 70-95mph and the whole car performed flawlessly.

The only adjustment I had to make was to turn my KYB agx's up a notch to handle the increased enthusiasm the car is displaying.

It feels as if the 97' engine has more horsepower than the 95'. is this true?

Yeah, the 97 has 191hp, while the 95s were only rated at 190.

Thought the SE's had 222???

If you are correct then my 95' had a REALLY tired engine, as it had nowhere near the get up and go as the 97' engine.

You probably had a dead knock sensor on the 1995 engine.

Uh, pics of what? A stock engine in a stock car is nothing to look at.

Valid point Mzmtg...my engine definitely looks like a DIY project....just getting new ideas of what can be done, etc. If leaving it looking OEM is the way to go or color schemesn being the preferred idea...scrath my last post.... :P
