Just got Budget Y & STS...

Just got my budget y-pipe and pacesetter STS today. I decided as long as I'm down there taking out the cat, I might as well get a STS and install it as well. I'm gonna be doing all the installations w/my brother and was wondering if there was anything I should look out for, i.e. tips and suggestions (espec. the STS) ? Would be a good idea to go out and get a new boot and **** ? ANy suggestions would be great. Thanks !

I'd get a knew ****...just cause 50th anns are pretty...and you will probably destroy the stock one taking it off. Get a shop to cut the bolts off in front of the cat. Makes it a ton easier. Other than that...pretty simple. Follow the How-Tos

changing the shifter with the cat taken out will be cake.

i had a hell of a time doing mine, with my car just on ramps and only slid the heatshield down. you shouldnt have any problems with all that room; it's pretty straightforward, not very many bolts to remove/replace.

go momo!

base of momo boots are threaded for a cap that comes with them, or if you get a momo boot it has a plastic thread inside the top of it that reverse threads onto the base of the shifter for the ultimate clean look, i love it.

unfortunately the momo universal shifter is this giant gaudy round thing with an elastic in it, good thing is theres tons of leather so you can just take your stock one and make a pattern and cut/sew the momo and fit in the old metal rectangle.

well, it was easy for me anyways

yea get a shop to loosen the cat bolts. form there it is very easy. you do not need a new shift **** if you take it off carefully. Also the Pace setter is lower than stock inside th ecar so it will look cleaner. i got a new **** though when i installed my Pacesetter.
