It's been unveiled! The 2002 6 cylinder 240 HP Nissan Altima with a new body style. Looks great! Resembles a GS300 with the horse power to boot! Take a look at it on Nissandriven.com. You will be impressed. I wonder what they are doing with the 2002 Maxima - no news yet.

I posted a thread about this too. I really hope they keep the Maxima sporting tradition alive with the next redesign.

I don't know about you, but I would gladly trade in my 97 GLE for this new 3.5 liter, 6 cylinder, 240HP Altima. It looks like it would rip a Maxima anytime!

u sure this is for real they always say that it is going to be this good and what not but it never really happens
if altima is going to have a 240 hp engine what about teh maxima maybe 300 hehe i hope then that will be my new car

The next Gen Max is supposed to have 260hp. They might as well go to 300.

The thought of an Altima pulling off and leaving me in the dust is not a good feeling for me right now ....it's going to take some time to get used to . The 260HP Maxima should be a screamer too. I'd consider buying one next year . I love my 97 though .

Hell, I figure if I need to go much faster than the Max can take me, I'll buy a C5.
