need help from suspension gurus installed progress/kybgr2 combo and drop is uneven

well the install went fairly well I replaced stock suspension with progress springs and kyb-gr2 struts the drop overall is excellent but I just noticed that the drop on both front wheels is uneven by 1/2 an inch???!!!!! I know that I installed every thing right but the drivers side is exactly an 1/2 inch lower than the pass side! do ypu think that the drivers side strut is blown thats the only thing I can think of maybe it was blown fron the start I bought the struts new from a group deal.... they looked fine, an every thing when they arrived and seemed fine during the install also will that 1/2" effect my allignment and handling I,m almost ready too get an alignment its been 3 weeks since the car was dropped so I think it would have settled by now any help would be appreciated

I would start by making sure the springs are seated properly. They have very specific rotation positions, in order to sit into the strut correctly. I'm betting that's the problem. Good luck.

it should be 1/2" higher on passenger side to compensate for weight of an average driver.

Mine sits 1/4" higher on passenger side.

have you car been in a wreck?

The car should sit fairly even. Are you sure your on level ground? Springs control ride height, not the struts. As Gibby suggested, make sure they are seated correctly. The coils in the upper perch should be nicely seated into the rubber ring. Also make sure the upper perch faces the right direction, the word OUT is stamped on the top. That should be in line with the lower mount on the strut, facing out.

thnx guys for the suggestions I,m eventually going too take it apart again but I know for the most part they are right. the word out is directly lined up with the strut knuckle facing outwards away from the car whan I look at the springs installed on the car the pass. side has 2 coils pretty much touching at the top of the strut and the bottom, the drivers side has almost 3 coils on top and bottom touching each other! thats why I think that the strut is blown it seems as though it cannot support the weight? also there is no specific designation as far as what front spring goes too what side right? they are interchangable is this correct? because thats how it was with the back ones....it didnt make a difference right???

stock SE springs have differnt markings on driver side , than passenger
but i don't think it matters with aftermarket springs.

did you assemble everything corectly on driver side? i mean the strut assmebly

It should sit little higher on driver side to compensate for weight of an average driver.

Nick.
