Greddy SP2 Catback System Installed! (review + pix!)
installation: it took me about 30 minutes to take off my stock catback myself. after that my friend came over and gave me a lift (kinda tired to hold exhaust parts and tightening the bolt at the same time.) i ran into the same problem that i30dmike did (extra rear o2 on the midpipe), but we ran into local hardware store and got an 18X1.5 bolt and cover that part up. drove back to my house, spent another 20 minutes bolting on the greddy catback, took picture, done.
along with some cheesecake + sodas, it took us about 2 hours removing stock catback and installing greddy catback. i give greddy A+ for fitment...we didn't have any problems with it.
sound: as greddy promised, sp2 w/ wsp y-pipe gives a nice and deep sound (but not ricy). at start it gives a nice vroom, but i expect it'll get deeper/louder when the break-in period is over. (about 500mi). around 3k it gets deeper...when it gets towards the redline i can hear both my JWT intake and exhaust screaming.
performance: since i upgraded from 2.25" custom setup to 2.5", i can't say much until i dyno or g-tech it.
conclusion: A+ catback, worth every penny.

Actually from the looks of the recent SP2's, they will work on hte 97's+ because of that extra 02 hole that is needed for hte 97+. Also some people have said its sticks out a little bit which is also need, 97-99 exhaust is a LITTLE longer because of hte bumpers.

will the bung fit a 97+ o2 sensor? i thought it wasn't the right size or something...
and HRF's exhaust sits pretty flush, id want mine to be where his is, but it will be pushed back in an inch, so i don't want that...
fob, i know your camera doesn't do sound, but id love to hear a clip of it...

Looks nice! The tip for me was about as flush as you can get...a very tad in set.
Happy, I bet you will have to remove that 12" metal brace that is right under and behind the resonator. After a couple days my B-pipe started hitting against it over medium/large bumps. It's not a big deal, I don't think it does anything. It is most likely just a safety thing incase the exhust falls off while driving.

i think mine really sticks out too much... i'll have to adjust the rubber hanger a little bit.
for the 12" metal brace...it was already slightly bented (i donno why but it wasn't straight when i took it off). if it starts to rattle and stuff i'll take it off. i already took off my heatshield from y-pipe flex section all the way to b-pipe.

I guess Cattman was not joking when he said the Greddy resonator was basically for looks! Sheesh, could they make it any smaller?! The original SP had 2 resonators, but rusts like crazy.
The quality looks good tho.
Kev, can you measure the length of the outlet, from the muffler body to the end of the tip? And then just the little part of the outlet. thanks.
