Are there any better coil packs than our OEM ones or are they just reccommended. Today I am purchasing ignition upgrades and hope to find more info on all of it. Thanks!

 

I remember seeing once on an asian web site s set of Splitfire brand coil packs for the VQ30, but there is nothing over here for us, nor would it really do anything unless you're boosted....

dude, i had to have someone get them for me in Taiwan. i got my set for about 550 air shipped. you are making a good deal right there.

one good question: did you even get it dyno'ed for a before and after comparison? you said you will a few years ago, but we've never find any info pertaining to it. anyways, i've put mine on. didn't have a chance to really dyno it yet. however, with my current setup, i can sense a more significant gain after the MEVI kicks in. What you've got?

a little update on my promised dyno:

I'm arranging to ship this coils to stephen max in austin for him to do the dyno with these coils. he is most knoledgeable and can go much further than i can on getting the real potentials out of these coils. it will be in september when i send them in.

sorry i cannot do it myself as budgeting crisis has come to a very depressed state. i'm buying too much mods at once and am broke after all. sorry guys...

 

if you have a stock car, with simple mods this wont help much at low RPM's at all... in fact the stock ones are pritty good as is, kinda limted at the higher RPMS and thats where they are improved... so its good for high end not low end.

and the improvements are probably 1hp to 10hp, definatly not worth the 400 to 500 $
