You say you are done and then you get a ton more stuff. There is nothing wrong with getting some nice audio stuff and saving the performance stuff for later.

Are you getting the redline extended further? I would like to hear the VQ going to 8k or so in person.

BTW I am probably going to install the MEVI this weekend.

Is the cams worth it without a high stall TC? It depends. If you're just into 1/4 mile track racing, then probably not. However, for daily driving, it's worth it. I was too caught up on just 1/4 ET. Just like the MEVI, the cams make everyday driving more enjoyable. Actually I think the cams provide an even better highend power than the MEVI. If you think the MEVI is great for highway driving, you would go crazy for the cams. And I'm an auto, I know a 5spd would do even better. It just keep on pulling and pulling on the highway. And if you got both the MEVI and cams like I did before, two words: hang on! Too bad the two mods take away so much lowend power. If I could do it over again, I would keep the MEVI and cams and get a high stall TC to solve the lowend problem. I should have listen to the guys that told me to keep the MEVI on and get a dyno first. Doh! Oh well, can't look back now.

I might do the 8k redline later on. However, I got to do the things I said in my other post first.

Best run was 15.1@93mph with the cams. I had trouble getting off the line. That's where the problem was. After the 330', the car really moved, but by that time, it's too late. Each time I get off the line, it seem like the car didn't have any power. The rev goes up slowly until about 4k rpm, then the car just shoot down the track. I would be in the 14s easily if I could get off the line better. However, with the auto and the inability to launch at a higher rpm, that didn't happen. That's why a high stall TC should remedy that. h2kSPiG('95 5spd)can attest to how I did, he was there. I even raced him on one of runs. Obviously he got me off the line. He was ahead for a short period, then I just went by him pretty easily. He only had an intake though. Since then he added the ypipe and soon the MEVI. With that combo, he should be able to take me easily regardless if I have a high stall TC or not. It's cool though, I would still be up for a challenge. Remember I used to race Ceasar at the track when he was still down here. And he consistenly owned me. He killed me each time, but I wasn't upset since he was a fellow enthusiast and a friend. Even had one video of me racing him, not sure if you guys seen it before. I didn't have the headers or cams yet at the time. I did have the MEVI. If you see the video, that's exactly how slowly I get off the line. It hasn't change with the MEVI or JWT cams, I got off the line just as slowly. That's video proof of my off the line problem. In the video, you can see that once I get going, my car was pretty strong, I started to reel in Ceasar at a good pace. Of course, by the time he crossed the line, it's too late. The cams provide a similar highend power, even more so IMO.

Is this the senario/reason? A high mileage 4th gen with a straight body can be picked up for about $3,000 these days and motor swaps are cheap and easy to do. Shoot, I got my 97 motor with 74k miles for $400 delivered along with a 1yr warrenty. So for 8,000 or less you could have a 4th gen with a new low mileage motor, nice SC set up, plenty of supporting mods like MEVI and heaers, coilovers and some killer rims. Sounds good to me! And you sell your 2k2 for what....$12,000 or so, I don't really know, but you will be ahead money wise in the end and have a fast car.

Actually this is all done already...just check out Confused car its got a new owner as soon as my car sells. Some told me not to do it but im bored with my car and I dont see anything happening with the Automatic and boost *BOOM*. My car is paid off so with the money I sell it for which approx will be 17-18k after returning it to stock and selling off the mods I will buy his car and invest the rest. Then I have a new fun toy, 6+k to invest and a nice 4th gen with 66k thats got basically the works done without tearing into the motor. Ohh and no more Automatic. To me its more than worth it, I remember going to drive my car for the fun of it...I just don't have that feeling anymore so its time for a little change .

Taking 3rd out to 7.2K rpms, which is about 102-103 mph then shifting into 2nd instead of 4th. Yhea, my valve train did not like 2nd gear at over 100mph.

2nd at 95mph is about 9500rpm, it's just that your tach couldn't react fast enough because I'm sure you immediately pressed the clutch in again. heck our tach might not even be able to move that far I would bet.

I've done this 3 times in my car and thankfully suffered no ill effects. Twice when I first got the car and once like 2 years ago while i was trying to race a ford lightning.
