ok, I can't do any more test, cuz the rented hose is ready to blow....

1 185/180
2 180 took long time to get up there. (turn the key a least 7 times)
3 185
4 190 if cranking just 4 times. 220 if cranked until it can't go anymore
5 185 / 180
6 180/ 190 also it took a long time (more then #2) (10x at least)
I'm just going to put my car back together, and return the tool and wait for help.
one thing. it says crank the key 3x (one let go, 2 let go, 3 let go.. check presure)
for my test I just turn the key and waited until it bulds up.
(1.......leg go, 2.....let go, 3...... let go
what are the possible causes of problems in my car...
don't know if you guys remember this but my car was dyno at 165HP and 177tq
my car is cali spec.
y-pipe, b-pipe stock HAI. (I belive I should be at 180HP 190TQ)
ok I think this is all the info you guys need...
now... do your thing...

i think 190 is standard, if u have more then that u may have carbon build but i guess a healthy engine. But i think u r supposed to do 6-7 cranks on each one? i guess i never did mine correctly if i'm wrong....
The only definite answers that we can give you from your testing is that cylinder 4 has carbon build-up. Toss some seefoam in the brake booster. The rest of the cylinders can't really judged upon due to your differeing methods of testing. When I do mine I crank it eight times no matter how low it is or high it is. That is required to get accurate results. Then I read the gauge, write down the result and bleed the pressure. Then I do it again. Do a test in that fashion and then come back and ask us. Not being rude here but its sort of common sense that all the cylinders be tested in the same fashion. Also, why did you rent a checker when you could buy one for only $35 and have it for whenever you need it?
when you rent from autozone, I can retur for a full refund. (I have no money right now to just give it away)
speaking of carbon build up.
on cilinder 2 (mid front of engine) the coil had black dust all over it. (carbon) on #4 (mid rear of engine) the spark plug had some black dust.
For cylinders 1 3 and 5 the niddle moved the same rate and same result came out. I beliv ethere is no problems with them.
But on cylinders 2 4 6, they all acted differently, they all seamed to be missing some kind of power, or had too much presure.
when I get paind next month I will definatly buy a compresion tester, and perfor as many test as I can. and do it more correctly..
sorry for the trouble.

When your doing a compression test it is very important to crank the motor the same amount of times and for the same period when doing each cylinder. If your cranking 8 times on one cylinder and 5 times on another then comparing the #'s won't be accurate. When I did mine and from what I have been told 5 cranks on each cylinder is the way to do it. It's not about cranking as many times as possible to get a certin #, it's about what number you get when you crank a certin amount of times.
OOOOH NOW I GET IT. well I haven't returned yet, so maybe I will wait until this weekiend and re do the test... 5 cranks same time for each crank. = correct numbers...
it cost the same price $34.99 but you get to return. just like a 30 days garantee thing. but it is a 365 days garantee (I think)
