Hit the recirculate button.

Its bringing in fresh air from the outside.

Yes the recirculate button will close the vents bringing fresh air from outside. So the faster you drive the more air that will come in. The vent is directly under the drivers side windshield wiper.

Related to the Topic maybe somebody can help.

I remember seeing a post about how to clean the Air vents with lysol or something to that effect.

Can somebody point me in the right direction. The Air that comes in smells kinda funny.

Thanks.

I think even in recirc mode - some fresh air ALWAYS is allowed into the car.... with the automatic climate control... the fresh air is typically routed to the lower (leg/feet) vents...

You need fresh air to replace all the CO2 you generate by breathing....

There are several vents in the body of the car that aren't related to the HVAC system.

Thanks for that info.... is that air delivered through any of the HVAC ducts? If not, should there be any air flow through the HVAC ducts with the fan off and recirc off?

No, it isn't.

With fan off and recirc off, outside air is pushed through the vents. The intake is located at the base of the windshield. This is a high pressure area, so the air is forced in.

One more clarification - so the air is forced in through the cowl intake - where is the air entering the cabin (i.e. what ducts/vents are used?)
