D@mn, I thought I would never see a GLXSE Maxima...

Weird, he has sold a few other cars on eBay too, and claim he is the original owner of those cars as well....?

Under the assumption that it really is an SE... The person probably got it from a dump in which the car was being parted out seeing that so many people on here with GXE/GLE's wanna be SE's. Rims gone, white gauges gone, fog lamps gone, brake lights gone (someone probably took them to perform the wonderful red/clear mod), etc.

A guy on my street just bought some 97-99 SE rims for his 3rd gen.

Oh another thing theres a spot for the tweeter in the A-pillar. I thought that only happened on the 95-96, 97-99 are in the doors right?. At least my 97 is.

I sure hope that guy gets a VHR. That is a missrepresentation case if ever I saw one. Almost as bad as the story floating around about the guy who flew to Fla. to buy a Bimmer M3.

like i said b4 a 98 SE with a FULL 95/96 GLE interior.... 3rd brake light included

the parts i dont belive are the milage, no accedents, and that he has owned the car since day 1. the car may be confused but his story is full of holes.

he has sold several cars on ebay, so I am sure he has not owned that car since day one. I also doubt that is the car's actual vin.

It's a GLE. No fog lights in 98, 99 on GLE and wood trim all around... someone bought it though... kinda expensive. Low miles, though.

I must add and agree that guy got shafted, its a shame because no one would know, unless the person going to buy the max knows about it or posts on this forums or another max forum wouldnt know what tails come with what year, and what guages goes with what year, so sadly to the winner is looks like a good max to him.

I tried e-mailing the winner and sent him a link to this thread plus to the faqs where it lists what comes with each trim level plus how to read the vin, but I read in the threat their e-mail to him came back so I'm expecting the same. Sadly we tried but the winner will be furious if he comes on here to mod and posts he go it from ebay and want to know what he can do to the car, and he find out how shafted he got.

Also how bout that clock and climate plastic? Should those be either wood grain or the same color as the dash? Same wif the plastic around the gages? $10 says there isnt even a nissan engine under the hood.

This e-bay guy is a scammer. If you look through his history, he has sold at least 7 cars, 2 of which he claims to be the original owner. Great detective work Igobuk. Pity the poor people who have bought from this turkey.

i wish we could leave comments on his auction.
Read post #36 and shut up.
The VIN matches the exterior and interior color codes. The car was most likely totaled/stripped and put back together without any one reporting it to any authorities.

My vote is that it is a 98 SE with 95/96 GLE parts (full interior) and has a 98-99 black gauge cluster.
I haven't finished reading this thread, but I think it's a 95/96 (assuming it's not a chop shop production). The dimensions of the outer tails varies between 95/96 and 97-99, right? The inners are the fakes because all trunk lids are interchangable, and his trunk lid is a 97-99.

EDIT: Damn, built in 97 (according to the VIN numbers HE made available). But I'd still like an answer to my question regarding the dimensions of the taillights....

Thanks. I see fake SE's all the time on eBay but almost always, the seller really doesn't know the difference and re-lists it. But this car was all jacked up and when I wrote the guy, he wasn't too happy and kept claiming it was an SE and that I didn't know what I was talking about. What a clown.

Outer tails are fully interchangable.

This car is a 98. My bet is that it was a theft recovery and it got stripped. Airbags, and probably an aftermarket radio, etc.

This is clearly a 97-99 bumper that once had foglights. Bumper covers that never had fogs in were completely covered in 95-96 and had a horizontal line splitting it in 97-99 in addition to being recessed instead of flush.

Come to think of it ... this is a FULL interior swap. Steering wheel, guages, center console, seats, a-pillars (tweeters were in doors in 98), door panels ... all from a 95-96.

This may have been a fire or flood car. Looking even closer, I don't think this car had leather at all to begin with. I think this was a stripped SE except for the C+C package. That gave it sunroof, keyless entry and something else silly. I believe in order to get leather you had to get the automatic climate control ... or Bose ... or both ... but I'm not 100% sure about that one. Can anyone confirm or deny my claims?

Really? How 'bout that. Then I'd expect more 97-99 taillight conversions....

there's nothing se about this car: steering wheel, no white gauges, no se rims, and there's a brake light on the rear windshield... I agree this car was probably stripped the **** out off, and rebuilt from aftermarket parts... I remember my cousin bought an se black on black and it got stolen the same week, they found only the frame of the car... Hell they even toed a jaguar (jaguar was blocking maxima in the driveway) onto the street to get to his neighbor's maxima and stole that one too...

Anybody else notice the guage cluster photo shows the car travelingat 20mph at idle speed with the door ajar light lit. Wouldnt the photographer prefer to take the picture not with the car not moving? I think there may be something up with the guage cluster too.

Please, you guys, didn't you hear about the special 96.5 SE? It had all the options of the SE, with the option of honeycomb wheels and the rear brake light. Get your facts straight.

ROTFLMAO

I feel bad for the person who bought it. I know how they could be stooped though. Its like me looking for a camaro (lmao...yeah right) ... I wouldnt know how to tell you the difference between any of them cause I dont get into them, but there are about 200 mullet bearers around here that could tell me in .3 seconds 100 things different from a 95 to a 97 and I would be like "Huh? They look the same"
So I can understand, its not the bidders fault.

I DO however have a 2007 Maxima I would like to sell him. LOL

Oh wait look at picture to the right of the 'dash' picture, the car is clearly parked and speedo says 20 mph. hmmmm.. So if you go 30mph does it say your going 50mph? I bet this thing goes 0-60 in about 4.5 seconds according to dash.

81 posts and nobody notice the guy who bought the car registered the day before the auction ended and placed one bid for $8,700, easily $1,200 over the fair price for the car?

Who would do that?

The car is fake, the buyer is fake, the seller is a fawking *****...you can stop emailing 443jason, the buyer... taras2424, the seller, is just using them to learn more on how to write up the next auction....... IT'S THE SAME GUY!
