Ruined Leather Seats! AHH (pics)

Yea so i was bringing a dead battery back to walmart to get the 5 bucks they offer for them. I put the battery in the new batteries box. Turns out there was some extra acid still in the box and it leaked onto my seat. : Completely ate through the leather and ruined the whole back seat. O well, good thing im trading it in and getting an 03. Hope the dealship doesn't screw me too bad for this. Here are the pics. :

By the way....do u guys think i should try to find a replacement at a junkyard or something, or trade it in as it is?

YOU GOT YOUR BATTERY AT WALMART

Jp I work at walmart =) .... I would buy a replacement cause the dealer will screw you for it...just think if that was a car you wanted to buy....that would be a huge turnoff.

that sucks. sorry to hear it man. This is why I keep everything but a$$es off my seats. If you do find a yard in RI that has a max with black interior, please let me know.

edit: Hey, if you're able to find a i30 rear seat I'd concider helping you with the cost with a trade for my maxima rear seat. I want rear headrests.

The acid will continue to eat away the seat for a long time.

I was changing batteries once and the shirt I wore got a few holes in it. I ended up leaving the shirt laying on the floor for a while. Next time I went to pick it up (couple of weeks later) the whole thing was nearly disintegrated.

My brother left a bettery in the back of my old pathfinder....it fell over and acid ate the whole rear, under the rear seats then crept up the the driver's side door sill......that stuff is nasty.
