VSS problems..help!!!

I've been having problems with my spedo intermittantly working. My MIL is on, and once in a while (more frequently recently) my overdrive light flashes about 10 times when I startup the car. I replaced the speed sensor, and all was going fine for a day or two, but suddenly my spedo went to zero while I was driving, so it's still intermittant. My MIL came back on this morning. It seems like a bad connection. What else can I check?? Is there a cocnnection in the back of the gage cluster or something? Thanks in advance for the help.

did you pull codes to see what the car is telling you is wrong?

also when my guage cluster was working intermittantly, I had to have something replaced, I'll look for the work order and get exact phrasing.

Thanks for replying MDeezy! Okay, sometimes, not all the time, when I start my car normally, the OD light flashes. It comes on steady when the car is initially started, and then it flashes 16 times and goes out (I think it's 16. It's hard to catch it). Tonight I turned on the ignition, w/o starting the car and the OD light flashed as described. I simply turned off the ignition and then back on again (w/o starting) and it didn't flash anymore. Never got it to do it again tonight. Very weird.

I pulled the code on the MIL, and it's P0500/0104 for Vehicle Speed Sensor or circuit fault. I already replaced the VSS, and it didn't seem to help. If I clear the P0500 error, it will eventually come back. Depends on if my speedo decides to work or not.

This may or may not be related, but my car doors will lock by themselves sometimes. If I come home and leave the doors unlocked, they'll almost always be locked in the morning. Sometimes it will lock itself as I'm walking away from it. I replaced the battery in my dongle (never have) and it didn't seem to help. Should I consult a priest?
