CV Boot...gone bad

I see grease on my wheels...i think ...oh $hit!..yep, my driver side cv boot is torn. My passenger side boot tore about 6 months ago...kind of odd that they tear around the same time and when the car is VERY close to 100k mile mark.

Anyway, i looked at some prices..and it looks like i can just get a re-manufactured driver side axel...for cheaper ( and a lot less work) than to replace the cv boot.

Im looking at this:

http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBr...7C%7EEA%7C%7EV

Would this be the way to go? are there any problems with doing this?

thanks

I bought mine from a shop and had it installed for $150 out the door. I had to get it done that day, and it was a Sunday. If I had to do it again I would get one from www.raxles.com , they are supposed to have the best ones(they are brand new not remanufactured).

If they are brand new how come they ask for the old axles? They do reuse certain parts by the way but the joint is new, thats what they told me when I contacted them through email. By the way, the passenger side is like 40 dollars more than drivers side. Gotta get my axle/axles fixed too. Was thinking to go to autozone but raxles do have nice looking axles. Oh well, gonna go buy jack stands, breaker bar, and get the rest from loan a tool from autozone.

But that cv shaft on autozone looks tempting, only 60 $ when you return your old shaft
