flooded maxima

im considering purchasing a minor flooded 97 or 98 maxima for under $4000. i just totalled my 97 5spd about a month ago. From wat i know all i need to worry about is the airbag module, ECU, engine and tranny issues. i can get all that swapped from my 97, except for the airbag module, for probably 300 more or less.

Is there anything else i should consider im making my decision for purchasing either of these flooded maximas?

the 97 max is a blk on blk leather 5spd with 100,000 miles more or less and the 98 is a blk on gry cloth auto with about 114,000. ive seen pics of both, and didnt notice any signs of a high flood.

hmm . . .

where did you see the cars? ebay or locally?

which car has less milage on it? which ever has less milage.

So you'd be swapping parts from your totaled max to one of the flooded maxs?

if your feel like selling that 97 trunk lid when your done PM ME

if they were badly flooded, then i would worry about ANYTHING electricaly in the car, something with it might not be wrong now, but it could get worse down the road.

and you might want to consider swapping the carpet because there could be very bad mildew in it, you might not smell it now, but just wait until it gets warm again outside, then you'll be hating life.

i think 4000 is an insane amount. I picked up my 2nd Max for 5500 and it was never flooded.
