Its really not hard at all. First you want to relieve the fuel pressure. To do this simply remove the fuel pump fuse and keep cranking the engine until it wont turn over any more. This will take out MOST of the fuel. Next start taking hoses off the filter. I would say start with the bottom one 1st because fuel is going to spray out and this lessens the chance that fuel will get on you. Then just put the new fuel filter in. Fuel filter is located on the firewall sort of behind the throttle body. Its a round canister. If your replacement goes anything like mine, be prepared for a ***** of a time getting the hoses off the old filter. I had to end up cutting the bottom hose. I think I lost about 1/2 to 3/4 inch of the hose, but there was still enough left for everything to hook up properly. It may be easier to remove the hose on the bottom from the actual fuel line vs. the filter. This way you can get the whole thing out of the engine bay and monkey with getting the hose off with more space. Hope this helps!

A good tip for removnig the hoses is to twist back and forth on the hoses, not pull on the hoses. Still usually a PITA though.

to everything already said - I'll add the following:

1) If you have ABS - you have even less room to work with...
2) Taking off the air intake up to the TB helps give you more working room.
3) Make sure you put the filter on in the right direction of fuel-flow (i.e. same orientation as what you took off).

Take your time, the hardest part is removing the lower hose. Keep some water in a bucket handy just in case any fuel spills on a hot place in the engine or on the street.

Only thing I will add is... don't do it in the cold. I did it when it was about 35* out once before I had a house and garage. There's nothing more painful than slipping off that hose and whacking your hand against some part of the engine... except doing it when it is damn near freezing cold outside.

Have Fun

Yeah, twisting the hose is a great trick to get them to break free. I think mine had been on there sooooo long that it was just cemented to the damn filter. I was never able to get it to come off even when using plyers to grip the hose for the twisting. Thats why I cut it and thankfully there is enough slack in the hose length to allow for a small cut.
