Bose crap, again...

Ok, well, just after replacing my BOSE hu with a friend's, I want to know how I can stop my cd player from skipping after going over a minor bump, sometimes a reflector... Anyone know what I can do? Thanks guys.

Yeah you will have to just go slower. My bose didn't do that before but now it does. The reason is probably does that is because it's just old.

sadly it is just gettin old, and doesnt have the anti-skip technology a lot of newer units have. Sadly go slower or dodge the pot whole or bump.

I had the same problem within 15 other problems with My head Unit.
the best thing is to do is to go to ebay and get the 99 head unit
you can see it here

i just replaced mine for $170 including shipping but it is great and never gave me trouble.
Belive me just go with the change to the 99 from infinity I20, Maxima Or Pathfinder, they are all the same exact darn thing and they all fit in the slot for all other bose headunits for the 4th Gen.

You obviously never experienced the Lexus standard Mark Levinson or the amazing Nakamichi sound system. Now that's quality, what all luxury makers should put in their cars. The Bose is ok sounding, but without the amplifier, it's just pathetic (luckily the newer generations fixed that by including them).

the bose systems in the new Altima SE-R are very nice. my neighbor just got one and put a 10" sub in and it sounds almost as good as his $1000 system in his Spec V (which is now in my car)

Bose units. Had 5 (read that FIVE) in my last maxima. NEVER again. I won't own anything with that name. Every one was factory reconditioned, never the same problem twice. I do realize that Bose didn't make the unit but two speakers went too. I would rather sing as I drive down the road with no stereo than have another Bose. Hope you all have better luck with your units.

yall need to stop listening to that rap ****. you drive a maxima, have a little class, jazz and clasical go quite well with the bose and my classic rock sounds great.

bose is top of the line, the nakamichi(sc 400) is fantastic as well but i didnt find it any better than my bose.

when i had my 90 se i would dare to say my bose was better than 95% of the other stock stereo systems out there, although my headunit did go bad in 99. our current systems are still excellent but everybody else is catching up.

good luck with your headunit.

The best thing about nakamichi is not just the sound but that they have built in cd changers which is sick.

Yeah, my friend has a GS300. Boy! their sound system is NiCe.. As for the Bose system on the Maxima, get a CD Changer and hook it up on the trunk. I had my CD skipping like there's no tomorrow on the hwy. I'm ok for now.
