Pure carbon fiber trunk Hey Guys and I guess a couple of girls now. I have a guy that messes around with cf all the time. He mainly makes Motorcycle parts with it but is interested in knowing how many guys would be interested in a cf trunk. I was complaining to him about all these Hondas and all the cf parts they want. I told him that I want a cf trunk. He told me to start a thread to see if he should even waste his time or not. I am not promising a timeline or if anyone wants to go in on this with me. I just want to know how many would be interested in this for about $500.00 to $700.00. He is already in the works of purchasing a trunk and maybe making the mold if he feels he could atleast sell 8-10 of these. Let me know what you think?

Ionic and Paradox both make CF trunks, but they are backed with FG.

I would have to see pics first. Im curious as to how strong it would be. How many layers of CF does he intend to use?
Will it be for 95-96 or 97-99 maximas?
Will it have the keyhole?
Is fitment gauranteed?

Are we talking about a trunk LID here? On such a front-heavy car, why would you want to make the rear end lighter? If it's purely an aesthetic thing, why would it matter whether it was pure carbon-fiber or CF over Fiberglas?
is he just goin to wrap the stock truck with cf or start with molding and fiber glass they carbon fiber finish....?and i think if so i would rather not have keyhole anyways to lazy and stupid to shve the one i have now...

Thanks for all the replies guys. I will show him everyones responds and be able to ask more of your questions then. As far as the years go, it will be for 97-99. I did not know that their was an actual cf trunk available over fiberglass. I personally dont care for the fiberglass myself. I can always ask about the key hole and could possibly make it an option if purchased. I am not exactly sure on time line though. I dont want to lead you guys on like it is going to be tomorrow. That is what I explained in my first post.
