Test Pipe or High Flow Cat.?

I currently have a stock cat with a Budget Y, Stillen B, and Stillen Rear how much gains or difference in sound can I expect with a test pipe or high flow cat.? Which would be better? Thanks...

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Custommaxima had a dyno one time of a test pipe and it showed gains of 6-8HP I might be wrong but I could've sworn they had one a while ago.

you benefit more if your were FI... you will only get at most 3hp... and it doesnt do much good for your exhaust tone (most people would agree)...

just call and ask, if not they will order it for you... are you having them put your exhaust on?

well i got in contact with a muffler shop that does a lot of flowmaster exhuasts....and he said he could do a catback using a flowmaster muffler/b-pipe, with a decent sized resonator added in.......so i may have to experiment with that....so after that i want to do a stainless Y and a brand new stock cat(stock), since mine has around 80K on it now

Here's the funny thing, the High-Flow Cat will probably be a lot cheaper than the OEM Cat from the dealer! Check out the prices before you do a swap.

Another note: 80k miles probably isn't so many that your Cat Converter is going to be significantly clogged (and hence lowering exhaust flow). If you can pull it out and look at it, you could confirm this. Might save you some cash.

Of course, $80-100 isn't a King's ransom for a new High Flow Cat if it makes you feel like your getting the maximum out of your car...

I have a brand new random technology cat with install kit if you are interested. Its for a 95-96, but you can get a O2 sensor plug if you don't have an oxygen sensor on the cat.

Here is some information on high flow cats.
http://www.customenterprise.com/view.../vts/design004

I'm looking for $150 shipped (OBO) for the cat and install kit.

Well on their website they have dynos showing the differences I don't think they would be lying about that. Correct me if I'm wrong. Secondly from my understanding their Test Pipe shows higher gains as oppossed to the Test Pipe, are there people here that would testify that the gains are actually there?
