im doing my gauge cluster leds, and i want to know how much blue ones i need

i read the faqs and it said there are 6 bulbs. now if i want to put the 194 leds do i need all six or less? are 2 for the speedometer, fuel and rpm. and the rest for CEL, brake or air bag? i just want to make sure i have enough bulbs before taking apart my dash. thanks

you have a 96 you need 5 for the guages. go on ebay and buy 5 #194 leds. they art ehe best for teh job, and they are easy and not as permenant. For the others you cannot do everythign blue. YOu can do crusine the blinkers and anythign like lights up green. The red if you put a blue led in it will turn purple, and orange will just look like *** i tried it. you could either soldering a led in those, or you could buy #74 led off ebay whihc are also much easier to deal wiht. they are alittle more exspencive but it will save you time putting in and when you have to take it out if ever.

5 194 WLED (Wedge) Bulbs for the Cluster. Some recommend sanding the tips to diversify the light better, but if you get them @ superbrightleds.com they have ones with an inverted tip and I heard those work great with no hot spots whatsoever.

Now, the Brake, CEL, Airbag lights I believe need to be soldered on and some of them have green or amber filters that must be sanded out.

For example if you want white arrows, you need to sand out the green and make new arrows again, then solder in the LEDs so that the white can come through and actually BE white, but if you want Blue arrows then Blue LEDs will go through the Green filter with no problems.

as said above you can do the sanding the rubber crap down to make the color you want but it is a bucking fitch. yes i forgot to add about the inverted bulbs. also i would sand them down that si what i did in the 4 maxima;s and altima i have done. and it always coes out well.

I did try the LED with inverted tip and all I can say is that:
a) no hot spots, but;
b) not bright enough

I didn't get the LEDs from superbright though, I got them from autodynamic.

I'm now using reverse indiglo gauges. Mmmmm, what I needed.
