12V LEDs in clearance lights?
Anyone have pics of LEDs in their clearance lights? I'm interested in getting the 12V kind so that they actually emit some light ... I can't stand how puny the stockers (even my hyperwhites) look next to my HIDs.

did you clip the upper nub of your 1157 and reverse it's position so it's using the 12V filament instead of the 7V filament?
i just use sylvania amber's from autozone and do this to them.. they are f'in bright. if you need pictures i will take some tonight when I get home (2 1/2 hrs away from a digital camera right now.)
there is a writeup in the how-to's ... brighter clearance lights.
basically you just use fingernail clippers or something and clip off the higher nub on the 1157, get it as smooth as possible so there is nothing sticking up, cover it with some electrical tape that goes about 1/2 the way around the base so that it will still have a snug fit.
now when you change the bulbs, you will see inside the socket that holds the bulb the two different height guides for the nubs, put it in now so the lower nub that you didnt cut off sits into the place where the higher nub should have been. the electrical tape will ensure a snug fit.
wa la, twice the brightness for the cost of $2.00 bulbs

I remember someone on here saying superbrightleds.com actually has 12V LEDs available. I'd much rather use those instead of rigging something up.
But yes, araffio's Max was the illest.....

Hhhmmm.... Silverstars, eh? I've seen those, but I was skeptical. They look weird - like they're coated with this gold/purple stuff. Do these have the longevity of Silverstar head or fog bulbs? If so, no thanks.....
