Why would you want Titanium lug nuts? It's not as if the stock or any replacement lug nut is heavy if that's what your objective is, lol.

if you're thinking about performance gains, there really won't be any. yes, reducing inertia (also called rolling or rotating mass and related to unsprung weight) is a good idea. however, your lugnuts are quite small and more importantly, located close to the center of the wheel. when it comes to inertia, removing weight from the outer edge of the rim or wheel makes a huge different, whereas reducing weight at the center really makes almost no difference at all. given the cost of titanium you're much better off putting that money somewhere it will count.

if it's just cosmetics, then hey whatever floats your boat, but the "titanium colored" ones would be almost as good

sir, what is the weight difference in stock and titianiun lug nuts? to me, for weight purposes, this is the most idiotic thing ive heard. seriously, how much of a difference can 5-10 ounces make? i think you are wasting time and money.

just my $.02

I agree about the small weight that it will take off but if it saves 1lb thats one glorious pound. With my carbon trunk on my car will be close to 2675lbs if i thought as you do "ehh this little bit wont count that much " then i would not have a car that weighs in the 2600'slb range. And also my weight goal for my car full interior is 2500's and the weight has to come from somewhere. Next year these sites will be used so i can replace all my stock fasteners(nuts bolts ect) with titanium and aluminum ones http://www.mettec.com/
Thank you

yes, i would tell chip foose that it is stupid to put titanium lug nuts on his car for pure weight reduction, if your worried about weight that much, dont use all 5 lugs!, use 4 in front and 3 in the rear, tighten them down tighter than stock.

i admire your car, its fast, but i think there is probably more weight to be lost else where through out the car other than the lug nuts....

one of the problem with people is ,that they dont know how to answer ?'s .Must be not enough schooling .

This is america and it is a right to like weight reduction and not to like it. I think its dumb what many people do but i dont run my mouth about it unless it affects me.

To each of their own I guess, but IMO Ti lugnuts will cost too much for the amount of gain, if any, in speed that you'll see.

Mags are really soft...make sure you torque them down really well otherwise they'll get torn up and your wheels will fall off.

If you could actually save 1lb. per wheel as krismax says, that would be like taking 40lbs. out of the cabin. Think of it that way.

Every pound the wheels have to rotate is like 10 lbs. in the cabin.

Do the math.

(I don't know if it would be worth it, krismax, but if you want to try it out...go for it.)
