greddymax,
I don’t normally respond to threads on this list unless they directly relate to an area where we have expertise. This is our area.
My goal is to make people think and to help people from making mistakes with their money.
We have tested your "chip" on 2 different occasions with back to back comparisons on a Dynojet (I have copies that I can fax if requested). Both tests showed a maximum variance of 1 hp over the stock ECU. At the request of a paying party we then proceeded to down load the Factory program through the Consult port. The “chipped” program was completely, 100%, EXACTLY the same as stock.
This party for whom the tests were being performed asked the supplier about these strange findings.
The 1 HP difference was attributed to the “poor” design of the Dynojet, furthermore stating that the Dynojet is a useless “toy”, and that no “serious” tuners use them!”, “ Our upgrades are specifically designed NOT to make any power on a Dynojet”
The “stock” program finding was blown off with “If you know what you are doing you don’t have to touch the program” “We don’t touch the program , only Algorithms”. You can read into these bizarre statements as you wish.
I’m wont say that JET is doing anything illegal, they have been “upgrading” ECUs for a long time now and they are VERY successful at it ( I would guess they’re profit margins are the biggest in the industry), and VERY big in the industry with HUGE marketing budgets and we cant dispute that.

BUT if you buy anything test before changing anything then, test, test and retest.

Holy Crap! Nice work Robert!

Can I say Busted!

Anyway if you change the algorithms and the program doesn't change, what's the point? Also how can no change on a Dynojet translate to gains felt in real life?

Jeff92se,
Thanks for the response.
The answer from jet is meaningless because an Algorithm is a term that desribes how the ECU program works, it is the program.
And you are correct Algorithm, smagmorithm, if it doesnt do anything whats the point.

The "butt" dyno is just notoriously inaccurate.
We deal with the old "seat of the pants" dyno claims everyday. I can't tell you how many NSX, BMW, porsche owners that we meet that "THINK" they can tell that the new $7000.00 set of headers is making way more power, they can REALLY FEEL IT. But for to the dismay of the owner the car is actually putting out 3 more HP on the top if they are lucky.

Robert a little confused on stuff you said. You said the dynojet isn't very accurate test after test, or is that what JET says?

How do you feel about Clayton dyno's?

Also, JET used to be huge, but in the past couple years I haven't heard anything aobut them?

What makes you think I am old, dumbnut? You just have an anger management problem and I don't care that your upset. You still wasted your money.

Re: Cost?

Ah.. I wouldn't worry about it. Especially when the moral of story for the maxima case is that the Jet doesn't do anything to the fuel or ignition programs at all.

Greddymax, I would see about the return/refund policy. Say you are not satisfied and want to return the ecu program for a full refund. Or at LEAST demand some dyno graphs to prove their gains.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: by the way......

well not to add fuel to the fire. but you should've done some research on here about the ECU before you went out and got one...a lot of members here know the Jet ECU provides min gains. Like Jeff said maybe you can return it to the place you bought it from. Your butt dyno may just be the ECU learning new parameters from your engine.
