if i'm just reseting it, does it mean that i will still get codes even though hopefully there won't be any problems?

Why do you reset your computer after a y-pipe, I never have...seems pointless, I have never seen hard proof that the ECU must "learn" new mods.

And if you do get codes, you probably will have problems...that's usually the rule of thumb...

I believe the ECU will adjust itself after time for the air flow of the new Y.

My WS Y showed vibrations at idle probably because it's touching a piece of the undercarriage chassis.

If your idle is normal, I wouldn't be too concerned.

is there any way to fix that , is it possible to move it or somethin out of the way because i've noticed that the whole exhaust is loose. i used to have a rattle noise before but that was also because it was loose and too close to , i think it was the gas tank, but it kept on hitting it whenever there were bumps on the road and i live in ny and theres always bumps on the road.

Mine doesnt vibrate all the time, only sometimes, it does get annoying, and mine also has a vibration sometimes during acceleration, but that's notoriuos for WS.

Mine doesn't make any noises at all when hitting bumps though. Check all your hangars and make sure the y-pipe flange is there to support your y, because if it's not you will have a bad flex section very soon.

if you really want to reset the ECU, just disconnect the battery for like an hour.

would that battery thing do the trick tho? as for the rattle , i fixed it , i just moved it over a little bit thats all. but i dunno about that vibration while stopping cuz all of the passengers and the driver can feel it alot even if you have the music blasting lol, makes the car seem old.

I noticed upon acceleration I would get the rattle more when i had passengers due to more load on the chassis, etc.

Try to reset it per felix's link......

Even at that it still has to "learn" the new mod for a few miles so its pointless.

Easiest way is to disconnect the battery, then press the brake pedal until the tail lights are out. This drains the capacitors that hold charge while your car sits without a battery (the capacitors keep the computer from 'forgetting' the timing and air/fuel maps). This resets the ECU. Resetting the ECU makes it 'forget' all of these maps. Then after a few revs through the gears the computer re-maps the timing and air/fuel ratio maps and you can benefit from the new lower-backpressure gained from the y-pipe. Otherwise it takes a long time and hard driving for the ECU to 'learn' that it has less backpressure and can fit more air into the cylinders since more air can come out. It only takes a couple of pulls to red-line to re-map them, so it save s a lot of time before the engine benefits. (It doesn't take miles if you get on the interstate and pull a few 4th gear to redline runs.)

Simple 4-stroke engine rules.
