Any instru. replacing radiator?

Was involve in an accident etc..

Now the radiator is leaking coolant (green fluid) on both side near the headlight. Anyone have any experience replacing the radiator?

I'm going to get it replace soon. Just want to know what to look out for. Don't want any surprises. Any particular tools i need?

Thanks

It's very easy. Drain coolant. Remove both upper lower hoses, unhook radiator fan plugs, undo the two 10mm upper brackets. then just lift out. Swap fan assemblies and reassemble

Its real easy, about 5 minutes. Drain, unhook the hoses, disconnet the fan, unbolt the bolts, slide it out, and slide the new one in and do the reverse.

The radiator swap should be pretty easy. Nothing really hairy involved and there's some good room. When you do get a radiator, Modine makes them with a lifetime warranty. They are about the same as the stock one if not plus or minus $10 bucks at most. I get mine from a local radiator shop and do the job myself, they just order it for me, I pay tax but no shipping charges.

I had a 1987 Trans Am that came with a plastic/aluminum radiator... the radiator was aluminum but the ends were plastic... stupidest thing I ever saw, needless to say it loved to leak. Anyway, I took the measurements of the radiator, where all the inlets and outlets were and got a Modine equivalent made of all copper. The car is still running, has gone through two trannies, an engine rebuild but the radiator still there... no problems.

So the Modile radiators are copper? That is great.

Yes... Modine's are 100% copper = 0% problems.

Thank you guys. Really appreciate the info. Any particular type of radiator I should get? Cooper, Alumnium or plastic. Looking to pay around $100 for parts.
