Hood pins on a GTP carbon fibre hood?
Hey guys I am looking to get this hood in the near future and was wondering if I would have to get holes drilled in this hood for the hood pins. The carbon fibre hood I am talking about is sold by importfan.com. On their website they dont mention anything about using the pins all they say is not to use the hood shocks, and that there is an adjustment you can make on your hood latch to properly secure the hood. I just want to get some advice from those who have carbon fibre hoods. Thanks in advance guys!

It's not really necessary but it is highly recommended. Carbon fiber hoods are notorious for catching wind and flipping upright onto your windshield. That could cause major problems while driving.hehehe
The hood shocks that are on our OEM hood are too strong...when you are closing your cf hood, the shocks will probably crack your hood in half. I took mine off when I got my hood from paradox systems.

Is the paradox hood any better than the one they sell at importfan.com? How did you go about installing hoodpins on your carbon fibre hood? I am afraid that I will ruin a $600 hood by drilling in the wrong place. Please advice me Thanks

Actually importfan.com has rolled edges, which mean that the cf goes around the edges and into the back of the hood. That's sweet, I don't have that. Other than that the importfan looks exactly like mine.
It's pretty easy to install the hood pins...basically what I did set the hood pins where you want them on the radiator bar. Put some white paint on the top of the tip of the hood pins...close the hood slowly so the bottom of the hood touches the tip of the pins. There should be a white mark on the bottom of the hood showing where the hood pin touched. Take the hood off the car and drill. Make sure that you use a small bit and then work yourself up to a bigger bit. When you have a big enough hole, cut a good size hole (I used a dremmel)to accommidate(?SP) the size of the opening of the hood pins. Just make sure that you take your time with this. You don't want to go to fast and make a mistake. Patience is the key...good luck!
