Greetings:

It seems something has broken with my sunroof mechanism. When I used the tilt this weekend, I heard a noise as if something snapped. Then, when I tilted it back down and tried to use the slide open switch, the sunroof appears to be "racking". In other words, only one side seems to be pulling and the other is binding. I looked in the FSM and removal of the headliner and steering wheel may be necessary. I'm really not in the mood to attempt this myself. Hopefully, it can be repaired without headliner/steering wheel removal. Has anyone else experienced similar problems with their sunroofs and what was the upshot?

Thanks

It sounds like your cable snapped. Hate to break the news to you, but a new roof at the dealership will run $1,300+installed. You might check with "custom van" shops. They frequently handle sunroof installs and repairs. Good luck.

Red112fl:

One would think the "cable" could simply be replaced. On the other hand, maybe this is one of those cases where it is more cost effective to replace the whole assembly.

Thanks
