Antenna

I was coming out of Ace Hardware yesterday and I noticed that my antenna was still up about 5 inches or so and was confused to why. So I started the car back up, then powered my radio on and off, and the antenna stopped at the same spot. What do I have to do? Anybody have a clue why it's doing this, or maybe even what's broke? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

The power antenna is a small motor that pushes / pulls a plastic "track" that in turn moves your antenna rod up/down. This plastic track and / or the gear that pushes it wears out with time. What happened to your antenna is that it slipped some teeth and now this is where it will stay until it ultimately strips all the teeth. Time for a new antenna.

Your antenna mast is most likely bent. You just need to replace the antenna mast.

before you go out and buy a new antenna, just try cleaning the grease out and spraying some WD40 on it. Mine used to get stuck, now every once in a while i will spray some on and it will be fine

Thanks alot for the replies. I will definately work my way from the bottom up. Starting with cleaning and spraying WD-40 Lubricant on it. Once again, thanks.
