i have a 97 5sp with a hacked intake, budget y pipe, stock cat, and custom 2.5" resonated cat back with either a bullit or magnaflow muffler.. the shop that did it carries magnaflow and bullit, but wrote down bullit on the receipt. when i went to both of the web sites for the companies it looks more like a magnaflow.
anyway, ive gotten many compliments about the way the car sounds from outside (one person said it sounded like a V7, more than a v6 but not quite a v8) but have had complaints from inside. between say 2-3.5k rpm it really drones under partial throttle. on the up side i can barely hear it on the highway, dont know why. im thinking about changing out the muffler to something a little more quiet. i dont know if its because of how i drive or the muffler but people can hear me coming down the road long before they can see me, and driving in the morning with a hangover is miserable
if i can get a hold of a digital video camera ill take some videos inside and outside the car.

Getcha an Aero-Turbine muffler. They sound bad a$$. I'm running one with Stillen Y and no cat with stock B pipe and resonator and its pretty loud.

I have my cold air intake w/ aem bypass valve, warpspeed y pipe, magnaflow high flow cat, and greddy cat back on my 96 SE 5spd.. I have been in love with it since the first day i put in on about 6 months ago.. i combined it w/ my b&m short shifter and, BOY DOES IT RUN!!!!!!!

I installed an HKS Hyper Exhaust rear section on a friends IS300 this weekend and it was a deep growl with no burbling like my exhaust, so after I get a high flow cat (i've got full exhaust with stock cat) i'm going with the greddy sp2.

i know this is an old thread but... i just bought the Budget y and bpipe with res. i need a new muffler too and was wondering how an 80 series flowmaster muffler would do with that setup?
so the setup would be...
ss y pipe, origional cat ss b pipe and ss magnaflow resinator, with the 80 series muffler?
any sound clips?
