It seems that the 0304 (KS) code has been going around lately

There seems to have been a lot of posts with bad knock sensors and the 0304 codes lately. My CEL has been on for months and it has been coming up with the infamous 0705 code. Yesterday I decided to check the CEL to make sure no other codes were coming up and guess what came up. The 0304 code without the usual 0705. So I pulled out my ohm meter and tested it and got 16.19 M ohms. From what I understand specs are 500-620 K ohms. So just to make sure I cleared the code and and decided to hook the scan tool up to it at school. After running it for about 20 minutes, there was no CEL. But the scan tool read that there was a knock sensor problem so now I need to replace it. What gets me is that people usually report a dramatic decrease in performance with a bad KS and I didn't notice any decrease in performance at all. I just ran it on the dyno a few days ago and it pulled 177 hp and 185 tq. I guess I just got lucky. Well now I just have one more thing to do this weekend. I wonder if i'll get more power out of it after it's replaced.
