Brake pad recommendation based on experience?

I know this has been a discussed issue, but until now I haven't been concerned with it. I will, no doubt, be needing to replace my pads in December for my inspection and was wondering what you folks have found to be excellent replacements for a 98 Max. My main issues are stopping power and quietness. It seems my pads have been squeaky forever, and I really want some quiet ones to stop me. Money is always a consideration, but the two aforementioned issues are my main priority. I plan to replace my brake lines with SS ones sometime before next summer as well. As always, your help/feedback is very welcomed. Thanks in advance.

stock is the way to go. They have good temp qualities and low dust no noise.

porterfield R4-s ...

Pro's
Stops very well
No noise at least in my experiance
Carbon kevlar supposed to be a little easier on rotors then ceramic

Cons
Expensive (we do get a deal from porterfield though if you mention them)
Dust... (I can live with this for the stopping power.)

Axxis Ultimate Pads are the best

Hey, I've tried a bunch of pads on my Max. My favorite pads are the Axxis Ultimates:

Pros:

- Grab hard
- Resist Fade well
- No squeal
- Noticable improvement in braking distances
- Not too pricey, cheaper than the dealer pads

Cons:

- Dust some (but easy to clean off!)

Give them a try, you won't regret them!

I've had Hawk HPS on my crx and that's the best pad ive used so far. When my pads on the max go i'll be getting hawks.

i love my axxis metal master pads. i have yet to find one bad thing about them. very quiet, dust the same as old pads, grip like hell, no fade, and I really like them.

I have just replaced (a month ago) all 4 rotors and brake pads with following which I got a great deal for $230 including shipping.

-- 2 Front and 2 Rear Drilled and Slotted rotor with zinc plating
-- Axxis/PBR Metal Master pads for Front/Rear.

So far no noise or no sqeal in last 1000+ miles. And a great stopping power compared to the stock pads I got from Infiniti dealer.

I am thinking about upgrading to SS braided brake lines.

I didnt like my axxis metal master pads... I think the stock ones are better, or felt better to me. Right now im on some cheap albany pads from autozone, but have Hawk HPS for my 300z calipers.
