Protector in front of sunroof.

Out of Curiosity what would happen if the hard plastic protector that is in front of out sunroof was taken off?

I was browsing my folder of maxima pics, and I was looking at the Max from The Fast and the Furious and I noticed that, that plastic piece was removed, it looked kind of good but I know it serves a purpose and trying to get some feedback on it.

thanks.

-sorry kinda a mouthfull
ok... it's only held on by 2 screws(from memory so don't hold me to it) but the unforutnate thing is that you will probably need to get the paint in that area redone, the guard tends to leave marks, i too was looking into doing this, you think if i buffed it after i took it off i could get the paint to look good?

Never done it, but I assume it'd be similiar to de-badging. Probably leave a sticky residue you could remove with some goo gone and a clay bar.

I took mine off (5.5 gen) and it's about the same noise with it off as with it on.

If you like the look of it off, take it off.
