remote start doesnt crank long enough
so about 2 weeks ago my alternator went out and i have a few other electrical problems. now when i go to remote start the car, it will only crank for half a second, and wont stay on long enough to actually start the car...in face it seams like my entire alarm system is acting up. could the total loss of power have caused the alarm to reset or something?
Did you install the alarm youself? If you did do you remember supplying 12volts to the second starter wire (which acts as a fuel pump primer)? Because when i first put my remote start/alarm (Clifford RS 3.5) in my 1998 Maxima it would remote start only after it had already been warmed up. On trying to remote start it cold it would try to start but no fuel. Also does your alarm have crank time adjustment?

unfortunatly i had a shop install it. it use to start up when ever i wanted. cold or not. now i can noticably tell that it is not cranking as long as it use to.
still got the owners manual. dont know about that brand but DEI systems have menus that are accessible thru a simple process. try to find if yours has something similar if not look online for Panthers web site or call their tech support. i guess another option would be to go back to the shop that installed it for you. good luck
