ERG Vavle/KS? Does this have an effect on the tranny?

I have posted something like this once before. However, I just read a post that might be the missing link in my quest to fix my max. One of the post read that the KS has some if not a bit of an effect on the tranny. (the way it is shifting) I have a KS code and a EGR valve code. The KS is a bit expensive but the EGR is not. I can purchase the EGR valve and replace it...but still will this effect the tranny? I know it effects the gas...which by the by, is suckin' gas. (93 octane...2.089 per gallon)

Help out techies?

No, neither of those effects the way the transmission shifts.

The ECU spat out a 1106...or 1107...tranny packs. Went to the stealership and they gave me a scamatic of the transmission and pointed out it was the soleniod packs. That will set me back. However, what would the electronic transmission register if there is some problems in the engine. Ex...KS...EGR valve...etc.

As already stated, the KS and EGR valve do not affect shifiting. They will also NOT cause any transmission codes to be triggered, i.e. the solenoid pack problem is independent of the KS and EGR code.

Crud...I was afraid of that. Thanks Njmodi and mzmtg.
Hopefully, I will get this corrected before I will need a new tranny.

You can do the solenoid pack replacement yourself - its not the easiest thing to do, but not impossible either. If you don't have the Haynes manual, get one and take a look. Others around here have done it themselves... you should be able to get some good tips.

Ok. I do know that i have to drop the pan. Once done, I should clean it and the magnets in side. The view of te solenoid packs them selves are not clearly shown. Is there a sticky as to replace them here?
I will look for guidence from you guys here too. thanks for everything.

solenoid pack

before you change the solenoid pack did you check the dropping resistor. I changed my pack and my car still shifted way to hard if this is the case with yours I would definitely check the resistor
