I want brighter lightbulbs for my headlights, clearence lights and fog lights. ('97 SE)
I want pure white light for the headlights, pure white for clearence lights and yellow fog lights.
What's your recommendation and where do I get them?

p.s Exclude bulbs that will cost me $40 a piece

Headlights: Piaa Super Whites 9004 $65 or Phillips Blue Vision 9004 $25pr
Fogs: Piaa Super White H3's (85watt)$24 each
Hella Yellow Stars H3's (85watt)$12 each
Corner lights: Polar-G Hyper White 1156 $8each ,194's $10pr.
The 1156 bulb will match up to the 194 bulb better than the 1157 running at normal wattage. Just shave off one nubby on the 1156 bulb and your set.

Currently im running Piaa 9004, h3's(85watt) super whites. As for my corner bulbs i have clear bulbs to keep the local cops happy. Corner lenses i have 1156 clear bulbs(extra bright) and clear 194's below them. Both match perfectly to each other. My blinkers up front are using clear 1156 bulbs, including my side markers 194's. In the rear i have all Polar-G Hyper red bulbs for the tails(x4 1157's and x2 194's(push in). Blinkers in the rear i have orange 1156 bulbs. Once again to keep the police happy.

NY 96...

Did you do any custom wiring to use the 85 watt bulbs?

Couldn't have said it better myself >>

Ny96maxse's post just about sums it up.

Of course, there will be those here with little or no knowledge of automotive lighting that will tell you different. In the end, the choice is yours.

The stock '97 9004 head light bulb is 65/45W. When buying 9004 do I need to specify wattage? How high can I go without replacing the harness? Stock '97 H3 bulb is 55W.
What are the wattage limits on stock harnesses?
