i'd recommend the JWT pop charger if you don't want a CAI. supposedly CAI is suppose to have better performance because it sucks in colder air but i didn't feel like cutting my car to install it. so i purchased a JWT intake. i think the Stillen intake is a waste. both are the same except for the fact that Stillen's is CARB exempt. go with the JWT intake unless u want CAI!

I like mine. I didn't get the CAI because I didn't have the money at the time. And the debate about whether or not the CAI actually gives you more HP is still going on.

I say get the JWT unless you feel like paying double for just having name "Stillen" on the intake.

I just bought my JWT popcharger from avalonracing.net....it's great. Sounds nice, too. $100 included shipping to CT. Got it in 2 days.

I love mine...

but there is a downside I see.. I dont know if it is mental or if it is for real, but it seems like you lose low end - like the sub 2300rpm range is a little weaker it seems. Now, that might be because the higher rpms are faster b/c of the intake so it just "seems" slower when in reality it is the same... or I have heard that the stock intake box creates a backpressure or something in there that helps on low rpms and that you do actually lose performance on low rpm.

Either way I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MINE, you can tell a big difference, but for the first couple weeks you will just be amazed by the growl the thing makes when you floor it - atleast I was. I think it was undoubtedly worth the money!

Yeah, you lose a little bit of low end torque, but you get used to it. I don't remember what stock felt like anymore.

I have the JWT cone and it is excellent. I did not notice any loss of low end at all. The engine makes a nice growling noise when revved now, very sweet sounding. It's not the fart sound that 4-cyl engines make. When my Honda Civic friends rode in my car and I revved it up, they said my car sounded broken. I was "silly, that's a V6." And they were like "oh."

I like it alright. Only issue I had is that it doesn't have a means for connecting the air temp sensor so you have to deal with that. I just have my sensor inside the filter hanging from the top of the adapter.

If I had to do it over again I would get CAI. Wanna buy mine, it's only 3 months old.

See, I am not so sure now. I want to make sure that when I do it, I do it right. Thanks for the offer. I am going to do more homework.

JWT intake

I have a JWT and love it so far, i love the growl it makes too. My uncle said it sounded like a cracked manifold when i floored it but i said that's just VQ power baby. I'm still thinking about WSP CAI though. I need hard evidence, i.e. .1 ticks or more off 1/4 before i cut up my baby.

I wish somebody tried the Warpspeed CAI instead. It's only 30 bucks more and the Popcharger does not have a bracket for '95-'96 model air temp sensors

Let me know how it goes if you try one. I think I am going to hold out little while.

4th Gen CAI WSP

It would be nice if the 2 boys who have been running for the last month would post. I found them here on Maxima.org, they are from the Twin Cities area, they are not frequent users here. Try thuynh@cyberoptics.com, his name is Thang, I don't have his buddies e-mail address with me=Jean-Noel is his name. All I have heard is alot of good feedback.Hope this helps.

Thanks Dan.

I may look into WSP CAI. Got to pay off some bills first. I may pick it up in a couple of weeks. Can you tell me where you feel the power in the band? And as you read, I am trying to stay in the maximum mileage range. I am not a racer now a days but I want more pep over 50mph.
