Is this safe?

I'm putting a new suspension on my car sunday and droping it 2 inches. Anyway i have to drive 2 hours to my brothers shop to do it. I know people say you have to get an alignment, so will it be safe to drive my car back home to get an alignment even though i'll be driving two hours??

i think you will be fine. The most harm would be done on your tires if the camber is off

I drove mine around for a few months without getting it aligned. I just ate through a set of tires. You'll be fine.

Some people prefer to wait a few days before getting it aligned (because they claim the springs may take a little while to "settle" into their permanent position).

I'm certain that 99% of the settling happens within minutes of putting them on, but the point is that going a few days is not going to hurt anything.

You can't wear your tires much in only two or three hundred miles, so you'll be fine!

Mine "settled" quite a bit in the week or 2 after I put my springs on. I measured.

Good to know. I didn't notice any visual difference in mine after some days (the original drop was immediately obvious of course), but maybe if I had measured I would have seen some change.

When you say "quite a bit" do you mean that the car dropped 1.5" when you first put them on, and then dropped another 0.2 inches, or do you mean a really significant change? Just curious, that's all. I didn't wait very long before I had my alignment done...
