CAR SEATS: Can 1999 seats fit in 1995?
Hey Guys,
I was hoping to buy some used 1999 maxima seats (leather) to replace my current front seats (also leather but really, really worn).
Will seats from a 1999 or 1998 maxima fit in my 1995? The seats have a slightly different shape and stitching than my 1995 seats, but if the TRACKS on the floor are the same, I should be in good shape.
Can I buy those 1999 seats on ebay? I can get em for $200. That's 1/3 the cost of buying a leather kit. That's 1/4 the cost of buying the leather kit AND having it installed.
LET ME KNOW! Thanks!

Will passenger side POWER SEAT work?
Awesome! What about the fact that only the driver's side of the 1995 maxima had power seats? Will I be able to hook up the power on the Passenger side (which is NOT power right now)?
Thanks guys! I really appreciate the info. I searched everywhere on the net and couldn't find an answer to this question. That's why I come here, to ask the REAL experts

look under your passenger side carpet. there should be a harness collecting dust. It should plug directly into the motor under the new seat.
if the plug is not there, you'll have to get it wired up (i quoted nissan for the hell of it and they basically told me to bend over)

There is definitely a "plug" there. I wasn't sure if that was the correct one for the seat. I though it might be for the under-passenger-seat mounted 6-disc cd-changer that was an option on the 4th gens...
Thanks!
You're very sure that would be the correct power connection? (sorry to be such a pain in the ****!)

Yes, i did a leather seat swap and had a semi-writeup a while back. there should be a yellow and black plug.

Yeah they should definetely fit. I wanted to sell my seats to my friend with a max we took me seats out and took his out put them in his 95 and it worked perfectly but then i changed my mind cause mine looked terible without leather but he ended up selling the max and getting a S4 anyways.

my gxe had no power wires so i had to custom do it all but it's not that hard at all. i got tan i30 seats for $225 shipped! the back is in perfect condition but the front seats have some staining on the butt part and i can't really get them completely clean it's driving me nuts. other than that though, i love them and can't beat that deal!
i'd definately recomend getting them!
don't forget about the door panels too. i'm not sure what color i want to do mine, tan to match the seats and interior or brownish to match the dash and to make some contrast. any suggestions?
i'd definately recomend getting them!

Awesome! Glad to know that it would work! Do your 97 front seats BOTH have power? Or is it just the driver's side like on the 1995?

Yeah, I'm trying to do the same to replace my worn front seats. I don't need the door panels since my car came with leather and already has leather door panels etc.
I'd take a look at some of those car domain sites before choosing a color for the door panels. I think the contrasting dark brown would look fantastic if your seats were also two-tone. With the single-tone seats though, it might look classier with a similar shade... But yeah check out some other maxima before you decide. I've got the factory interior which is classy, but more bland than if there were a two tone seat/door panel theme.
