Is this symptoms of a bad knock sensor???

Last night i was driving home....and latley my car has been acting real weird. when i am drive, all though out my rev ,my car just seems like it pauses for a second. this happens maybe 2-3 time from 2000-5500.

well some people said ti could of been my clutch....but i noticed last night when i was sitting a stop light the car would kinda like "miss a beat". It would just pause just for a second. I do not know if that is the "knock", but is this a symptom of a bad knock sesor?

my luck it will be like the "your engine is about about to blow the hell up sensor"......

would coils throw the cel light.....cause i do not have a CEL on. I have not check for knock sensor code yet cause this just happened yesterday night, and i have not had time yet to run them......

one more thing is that my maxima is on 120,000 miles with orginal knock sensor.....so it probely could be change anyways...

Dustin,
I happen to have first hand experience with "your engine is about about to blow the hell up sensor" and I think you are ok.
BUT, my girlfriend had a similar problem as yours and it turned out to be an issue with the wiring to the spark plugs. (I know we just hung out last night but I though of it on the way home last night!) How old are your spark plugs btw?

you put 93 octane in? if not, it could be the low octane messing up timing

dustin, could be ignition coils, and it may or may not set off CEL... I know my ignition coils are dying, as it "misses a beat" every now and then when sitting at a light, and I don't have ignition coil CELs...

also you may want to go ahead and change your knock sensor, but run the codes first to make sure you get 0304 for ks...

btw, whats up bruce!?

Aren't you supposed to use NGK platinums instead of coppers?

I believe it's okay to use either, it's just the coppers must be changed more frequently.

back probe the KS with the + lead of a voltmeter, but the - to a good ground. Get a socket extension and put it near the KS. Now tap the extension with a hammer, Not too hard! If there is a voltage reading, its not the KS, if there is no volts, get a KS
