Need help finding tail lights! (Title changed to prevent anymore strokes)

I have been searching all over, but I can't find where I can get white/red tail lights for a 96! (It would make the top 2 white and the bottom 2 red like this: http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...77_50_full.jpg ) All I can find are ones for 97-99...if anyone has ANY idea where I can grab some, please let me know.

They used to be made a couple of years ago. But since they were only made in all clear they weren't DOT legal so they stopped production. The only way to get them now is if someone is selling them and that'll run you about $300

You can also put on a 97-99 trunklid and lights, but that will probably cost about the same.

That'll cost more. Trunk lids aren't cheap.

Was 96 the only year they used those tails? You might as well just get something like this "black chrome" altezza style. That might look decent with the dark green paint color.

You can get them here: http://www.mytightride.com/nmax95a.html

How much custom work would it take to clear out the lenses you already have?

I dont know about everyone else, but I'm tired of seeing threads titled "Heeeeeellp" or something of that nature, and it just turns out that you just need some advice or want to find a mod to buy.

I wish people would reserve such titles for when there is a serious problem, not I want to get clear tails.

Not tryingt to flame or anything but I dont feeel thats fair, just title it more appropriately you'll still get responces, save it for when your car wont start and your gf/wife is pregnant and water will break at any minute.

I wish people who think that they are somehow better than everyone else would keep their mouths shut and just pretend like they didn't notice things that they don't approve of, like most people do. I needed help with something, so I figured maybe I should put that as the title. I don't care what you think, go post your complaints somewhere else. Thanks.

You have 3 choices.

1. Make your own, there is a link in the 4th gen mod how/to's

2. Go with the 97-99 trnk conversion [$$$$]

3. Find them on ebay [once again $$$$$]

So you really have 1 choice and that is to make them yourself . Check out the Mod How - to's "Redding out tails" POST #5

You can't make them yourself...That's for 97-99 tails (where the amber piece is not part of the lense...just glued in).

BTW I agree with mdeezy.

I wish you would have read the faqs first cause you would have found your answer in their. I said nothing about being better than anyone so making those assumption dont make you look bad. Puttin "heeelp" like you did is an obvious cry for help, usually titles like that are attached to thread like my car wont start, or tranny blew etc, something more important than tail light, not saying what your posting about isnt important but just be a little more specific.

but what ever you want to get heated over this then go ahead, I come on here and I see threads titles "heeelp" I think someones car is in trouble and read those first to try and offer some help, to just find you need tails . . . come on. What ever dont waste your time responding since you dont care what I think, check ebay or make 'em yourself, and read the faqs.

DONE.

Well, all you would have had to say is, "You will find that info in the FAQS section." You didn't have to sit there and waste your 'precious' time typing all of that nonsense. Seeing that you are 22 years old and still don't know when to use the correct form of "there" disgusts me. Go back to 7th grade before you go blowing hot air. You should take that stick out of your *** so I can hit you with it.

P.S. Thanks for the tail light info, that's all I needed.

That's a good idea, I saw some of those on ebay, and they looked way good. They would go especially good with my dark paint. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely look into that one.

I usually don't get involved in these, but I would like to point out that giving your thread a non-descriptive, misspelled title like "Heeeelp!" is not much better than misusing the word "their."

The only information that slightly pertains to my thread is how to 'red out' tail lights. I don't want to 'red out' my tail lights, I want them half clear and half red. Looks like some people need to read through the FAQS themselves.

P.S. I could be wrong, and if so, link me to it.

The only way to make 95-96 tails half red and half clear is to find an expensive set of red/clears or all clears (to paint) as they are no longer made, or convert to 97-99 rear end and clear those yourself. Either way it's going to be big $$$. You could also paint over the amber with red or tint either the amber or the amber and clear.

Do you have any idea where I could find some? Are the lights in the trunk removable? If so, couldn't I just get some off of a 97-99 and then buy those red/clears off ebay and re-wire them?

The 95-96 has a crease in the lower half of the trunk that the 97-99 does not have and the 97-99 lights are also angled differently, so no, those lights will not fit. I think the actual lens mechanisms inside the lights are different between the years, which is what makes the 95-96 red/clears harder to make for manufacturers.

The best place to get 95-96 red/clears is from ebay or the 4th gen classifieds on here. Just keep looking and you might get lucky and find a set sometime that you can pick up for around $300.
