How can you tell if the clutch is gone on a maxima..
On my subaru it would grab higher and higher up..on the maxima when the clutch is almost gone..does it grab very low? Also how can I tell if a tranny swap has been done on the car(auto to 5spd)?

you can adjust the grab point, check the faqs it has a description of how to adjust the clutch so that it grabs closer to the floor or higher up.
as for telling if you had a 5 speed swap done, I'd say check the faqs and read your vin number it will tell you if you have an GXE,SE,or GLE, if it turns out its a GLE but you have a 5 speed, then you have had a swap done.

it grabbed really high on mine, and it would slip in 4th and 5th gear if id moderately accelerate, then i slammed the gas in 5th, and it revved up when it was near its death. replaced it after that, it slipped every gear after that point, i guess i burned it out when i slammed the pedal
