engine problem

hey i just had my car for a week and every time i start my car i always here a grinding noise when i start it. Can smomeone help me out?

the grinding sound that you here is your starter, almost everyone on this board has had this grinding sound, there are a couple of things you can do for this, either you can remove the starter and clean it(the inside of course), buy a new one and replace it, or go to the dealer and have them put it on for you, which one would you rather do.

grinding noise

i just got the car back from the dealership and they said it wasnt the starter but i know it is but is there anything else it can be i really strongly doubt it. (lazy nissan workers)

it has to be the starter, does it sound like Chichichichi vrrrrooommmm, grrrgrrrgrrr, then idle.

The sound will go away when the weather warms up. It rears its ugly head under about 50 degrees f.

mine

Mine does that grinding noice at like 40 and below...ill fix it one day prob before next winter since ill be moving to New york and its cold it did it a little this morning and it was 43
