you can use a universal bypass. part number is 556u from DEI. it's a small black box that you install one of your keys into, then tuck it waaaaaaay up under the dash, and it's got a transponder ring that gets installed on the ignition cylinder. when you remote start your car, the remote start brain will send a status output to the 556u and it will transmit the code from your key to the ignition ring.

Just make sure you know all the implications. Since one of your keys is now, in effect, in the car, anyone can start it once they get inside and find the key. Bearing in mind, of course, that they have to know that you have the following:

99 Max with transponder key
DEI remote start (Viper, Clifford, etc.)

along with being able to find your key somewhere in the car (there are only so many places the key/box can be hidden.

that fawker was so annoying. i reported all of his posts, and i pm'd him and told him i was going to drink a beer when he got banned, so guess what?

i have a corona in hand.

happy thanksgiving

anyways, back on topic...

when i do transponder installs, i remove the gauge cluster, then put the transponder box behind there. there's no way to get to it from under the dash, and the only way to get to it would be to pull the cluster out. most thieves will have passed your car up for the next one by now...

You can also hacksaw the key, just cut the metal key away from the plastic part that holds the "chip." That way at least there's nothing to stick into the cylinder.
