how long does Maaco last?
I need to get some new front end parts. If I buy them new, via ebay or something, I'll have to get them painted. Would something dirt cheap like Maaco last long enough, say 3-5 years, until I would plan on getting the whole car repainted?

from what I've heard in another thread, that Maaco isnt that good. the Quality of work is rather shabby, but you'll realize in a couple years, so this maybe up your alley, it should look good, and keep it clean and waxed and could last till you get the whole car repainted.

you will notice your dark green which was painted by MAACO no where near as shiney as the rest of your.
Also, my experience with MAACO is that their paint is rather crappy... chips initially. We had our 89 celica painted graphite pearl, it looks really nice but we had a couple paint chipping issue. We also paid for their most expensive package, but still, i would only do maaco if i got the entire car painted just because they will not do 2-stage paint jobs.

do yourself a favor....let a body shop paint the parts. Maaco probably won't match the color of the rest of the car. Take it to a shop, let them paint the parts and get the rest of the car detailed. It will be so much more worth it.

Well most of you guys have no clue what to do when it comes too painting. There is no need too PRIME 90% of new parts they are pre primed in black and can be painted right over. Some plastic bumpers need primed but they have a label on the inside that says if they are or not. I do collision repair/paint/and custom bodywork. MAACO sucks just spend the money and get it done right.

I knew someone that got a re-spray from Macco and yea it really sucks. The paint lasted about 5 or so months. Your only going to spray some parts, may as well do it once and do it right. Youll be better off that way. Plus it will be cheaper in the long run.

Maaco has many different levels of service. The sh!tty one for $300 is just that; sh!tty. All the single stage processes are terrible but if you pay the price for the base/clear process it will be just as good as any other mid level body shop.
