Need help! on a cold morning car starts and shuts off, why is this?

Need help! on a cold morning car starts and shuts off, why is this?

yes so when it is really cold and i give the max its first start it starts, then dies, then i would have to gas it to preventing it from cutting off, i have a new 02 sensor, fuel filter,what could be the problem?

Clean your throttle body, if that doesn't help check your engine coolant temperature sensor to make sure it's within spec when it's cold.

What do u look for when cleanin the throttle body?

I'm havin similar problem. I've ordered the ECTS from JR nissan, i'll let u know if it resolved my problem.

check the cold start valve... i cleaned my IACV and now the car starts right away in the cold... but it still haven figured out why after its been warmed up and sits for a couple of hours it cranks for a while before it starts...

I had the same exact prob in cold monings and all i did was change my spark plugs... and the problem never came back... so try that first before doing anything big to the engine... hope this helps..

I had a similar problem with my 95 max. At first i thought it was battery. Had it checked at autozone - it was bad. Replaced but didn't solve problem.

I ended up going to the dealership and having it hooked up to the computer. They said the idle was too low, about 375 instead of 800. They corrected the idle and problem was solved. It didn't really make sense to me or anyone else but that fixed the problem.
