which short shifter?

which short shifter?

I wanted to buy a short shifter. does anyone have suggestions as to which brand and what kind i should buy? also the cheapest place to buy them. and can you really feel the difference? thanks

hmm...will that be the same as using a short shifter? what did you cut it with?

Go on ebay and buy a short throw shifter from cosmo racing. I have it had for a while and it works great. It is the cheapest one I found.

Cutting the stock shifter will not change the fulcrum point on your shift linkange, which is what you really have to do in order to decrease your shift throw.

I have the generic ebay short shifter and have had no problems with it fo rthe 4-5 months that it's been installed. I think I picked it up for like $35. Some people say that they break, but I've yet to actually see photo proof of that.

Any other name brand short shifters are going to cost around $100-$150 bucks.

It's very straight forward ... the hardest part is lowering the exhaust to remove the heat shield from under the car. Other than that, it's a breeze. Took me about 45 minutes to install mine ... I did however have all new bolts on my exhaust from my y-pipe and cat-back install.

If you have the original bolts, you can try soaking them in liquid wrench for a few days first - or just have a muffler shop cut off your bolts and put new ones on for less than $30.

B&M STS www.sportcompactonly.com I LOVE ! the B&M sts... even though I have not driving a max with a different short shifter before so I cant say anything for the otheres. But ive driven 2 max's with the B&M and love it!

go to customenterprise.com and buy the short shifter they sell, i have one and its very nice, its also adjustable too. cost about 70 or so bux.

Dude i say spend the extra dough on a nice b&m i love mine. You get what u pay for, and u all know u cant go wrong with b&m.
