which short shifter?
which short shifter?
I wanted to buy a short shifter. does anyone have suggestions as to which brand and what kind i should buy? also the cheapest place to buy them. and can you really feel the difference? thanks
Cutting the stock shifter will not change the fulcrum point on your shift linkange, which is what you really have to do in order to decrease your shift throw.
I have the generic ebay short shifter and have had no problems with it fo rthe 4-5 months that it's been installed. I think I picked it up for like $35. Some people say that they break, but I've yet to actually see photo proof of that.
Any other name brand short shifters are going to cost around $100-$150 bucks.

It's very straight forward ... the hardest part is lowering the exhaust to remove the heat shield from under the car. Other than that, it's a breeze. Took me about 45 minutes to install mine ... I did however have all new bolts on my exhaust from my y-pipe and cat-back install.
If you have the original bolts, you can try soaking them in liquid wrench for a few days first - or just have a muffler shop cut off your bolts and put new ones on for less than $30.
